Building Bridges for Sustainable Development – Strengthening Sustainability Skills in Folk High Schools
Building Bridges for Sustainable Development is an Erasmus+ project bringing together Finnish and Norwegian folk high schools and the international Bridge 47 network to promote sustainable development. The project aims to explore how the United Nations Agenda 2030 Target 4.7 – sustainability skills, human rights, gender equality, global citizenship, and cultural diversity – is implemented in folk high schools in Finland and Norway, and to strengthen expertise and networks in the field.
During the project:
- Map the current situation in Finland and Norway through surveys, document reviews, and expert discussions.
- Organise study visits to both countries to share good practices and learn from each other.
- Host a workshop during the Finnish Folk High School Association’s 120th anniversary celebration in November 2025.
- Hold three webinars to present results to Finnish, Norwegian, and international audiences.
- Communicate and disseminate results widely at national and international forums.
Participating organisations:
- Finnish Folk High School Association (coordinator)
- Norwegian Folkehøgskolerådet
- Bridge 47 network
